An Alpha Chi (Butler University) commemorative plate explaining the history of the chapter's housing. "In 1922, Bernice Avery Smith, Alpha, helped her niece organize a group known as Beta Chi. After inspection in 1924, the group was installed at the Eastern Province Convention on February 28, 1925. The Alpha Chis lived in rented quarters until 1935, when a cinder block house was built. In April, 1953, this house was torn down and a Georgian Colonial house was built in its place."
The 1919 National Convention body voted to form a committee to design an official china pattern for use at Alpha Chi Omega chapter houses. This set was the first purchased from the Syracuse China Corporation and was used by Lambda (Syracuse University) chapter. It was found in a box of broken china sent to headquarters in 1990 for display.
This Royal Albert Friendship Series Carnation cup and saucer features a red carnation pattern with gold trim and matching saucer. This was not an official china pattern for Alpha Chi Omega but was commissioned at the 1919 National Convention in Chicago, Illinois. This cup and saucer are on display at headquarters.
Hannah Keenan (Alpha, DePauw University) hand-painted this plate for her mother, Founder Bessie Grooms Keenan, when Hannah was 12 years old. Hannah served as director of central office from 1937-66 and later as archivist.
