An Alpha Chi (Butler University) commemorative plate explaining the history of the chapter's housing. "In 1922, Bernice Avery Smith, Alpha, helped her niece organize a group known as Beta Chi. After inspection in 1924, the group was installed at the Eastern Province Convention on February 28, 1925. The Alpha Chis lived in rented quarters until 1935, when a cinder block house was built. In April, 1953, this house was torn down and a Georgian Colonial house was built in its place."
